Sam has extensive experience delivering inclusive therapeutic interventions and educational services within the Early Childhood, Education, and Disability sectors. With a strong passion for inclusion, Sam is an advocate for inclusion and developing independence, especially for children with a variety of disabilities and learning difficulties.
Focusing on therapeutic support, Sam uses a strength-based approach to work collaboratively with educators, therapists, children, and families to develop and enhance each child’s functional skills. Sam is dedicated to helping children build the practical abilities needed to navigate everyday challenges, fostering their independence and confidence in both education, the home and community settings.
By integrating therapeutic interventions into the home and community settings, Sam ensures that support is tailored to meet each child’s unique needs. This holistic approach focuses on empowering children to reach their potential, supporting them in developing essential life skills that will serve them both now and in the future. Sam works closely with families and relevant stakeholders, ensuring that each child receives the right support to thrive in their daily routines and build long-term success.
Inclusion and Education Consultant
Toni brings over 25 years of experience in inclusive education, working across public, private, and independent education settings. She is committed to providing holistic support for children and their families, collaborating closely with schools, families, and allied health professionals to create an environment where children can thrive in both educational and community contexts.
With a focus on strengths-based support, Toni works alongside families and educators to identify and build on each child’s unique potential. She has extensive expertise in personalised planning, helping to set and achieve specific goals in areas such as literacy and numeracy, social and emotional regulation, communication, self-care, and transition supports.
Toni places a strong emphasis on family support and parent coaching, providing families with the tools and strategies they need to support their child’s development at home and in the community. She empowers parents and caregivers by building their capacity to address challenges and create positive, supportive environments that foster growth and independence.
Toni has a particular passion for Preschool to School transition supports and developmental screening assessments, ensuring that children receive the necessary support to successfully navigate these key stages. Her approach focuses on capacity building for both children and families, ensuring that the child’s progress is supported in a way that is sustainable and integrated into daily life. Through her work, Toni helps children develop the functional skills necessary for lifelong success, empowering them to engage confidently in their routines and interactions.
Assistive Technology Consultant
Ken has spent over thirty years working across diverse technical and leadership roles within the technology sector. At Catalyst Interactive, an international training company, Ken’s participation in the design, development and deployment of training programs for industrial operations, transport systems, government, defence, law enforcement and tertiary and vocational training sectors provides him a high level of expertise in both hardware and software technologies and their application, use and benefits for learning.
This background, combined with having managed major projects allows Ken to work effectively with you, your child, their teachers, and other specialists to implement assistive technologies that promote access and support independence within your child’s mainstream environment – including their reading and writing development, task scheduling, time management and digital communication capability. Ken works part time.
Administrator
Cathy joined the team in January 2024 and manages the administration duties for our team and your family’s support. During her husband’s military career they have lived in various locations, but Canberra has been their home for over 20 years. In 2018, Cathy retired after 34 years working in the Public Service and has spent time travelling and doing short term contract work.
Cathy’s experience is diverse, with previous roles involving recruitment, coordination and management of employees and contractors to accomplish their mission, vision and goals. As well as working as a team to ensure all aspects of work health and safety such as policy, procedures, auditing, and mental health were in place for the employees, contractors and visitors within the organisation.
Cathy’s experience with holistic counselling has provided her with the knowledge to achieve and share the attitudinal approach to life; focusing on the entirety of yourself, such as the mind, body and spirit and the connection on how each of these help you to grow, heal and change .
Cathy’s extensive administrative background and experience has her well equipped to support our team and your family with a variety of service delivery related administrative tasks. Cathy works part time.
Therapy Dog (Level 1 Human- Canine Team Graduate)
Rosie joined our team in January 2021. She is a golden retriever x cocker spaniel. She loves running through the grass, and playing games. Rosie’s confidence and curiosity continues to grow every day and loves the opportunity to meet new people and other family pets. Rosie has a gentle temperament and enjoys every opportunity for friendly pats and belly rubs. Rosie loves peanut butter, hi fives and belly rubs. Rosie has now completed her therapy dog training and is excited to meet our wonderful families.
