“I quite enjoy the webinars and find them useful – I can stop and start and rewind as needed.”
“I find the pre-recorded method excellent. It allows me to pause or go back and re-listen, as I find that listening again once a connection has been made to what was previously said suits my way of learning.”
“I loved that the workshop was TQI accredited.”
“Great graphics to enhance what was said. I like the house model.”
“This content really made me consider how I could help those students who always seem to have a blank page or take forever to start.”
“I believe the webinar met the objective very well as I was able to identify from the first 10 minutes the differences between handwriting and writing. I previously was one of those people who would place handwriting and writing in the same category, however, now I know that they are both closely related with each other but function entirely differently.”
“The difference between handwriting and writing was well identified and broken down into easy to understand segments.”
“I have children in my class who struggle with both handwriting and the executive functioning of writing in my classroom. The behaviours outlined in the webinar look a great deal like the behaviours I see from some of my students when it comes to writing.”
“The content has been fascinating, and very well communicated, it is clear both presenters are very knowledgeable and the presentation is very professional.”

“This identified and emphasised the importance of EF skills in relation to daily activities, not only at school but for life, especially from a physical side of things.”
“I’ve already made lots of small changes in my planning for workshops and learning tasks in my classroom. The content has been exceptional, and exceptionally explained, it has been incredibly engaging and informative.”

“This webinar was PACKED with information. Great to get some theory and some practical tips on how to move forward with children with attention difficulties.”
“Hearing from an OT was very useful as they are experts in their field. I never understood the value of a slope board – the student I work with wants to get rid of it so he is like the other students but I need to insist with the teacher that he uses it. Thank you.”
“I think that this webinar represents the most EXCELLENT value for $80. The handouts I suspect will be comprehensive and the professionalism and depth of knowledge of the presenters is fantastic. When I compare this to some other PL Webinars I’ve been able to do in my job in the last 12 months this one is far and away the most impressive – I learnt new things, it was fast paced and packed with information and I suspect the handouts that will come now that I have completed this course will also be excellent. Thanks so much. As a school leader this has been a great use of my after hours time and I will be implementing some of these strategies within my Learning Support department as soon as tomorrow afternoon at my staff meeting. Thank you!”
“Thanks for this webinar – it was excellent. I watched it this evening from the comfort of my home. I was very impressed with the content and the professionalism in the presenters and the quality of the information discussed. Thanks for the handouts. I am sure they will be super useful. I’ll be on the look out for any further PL that you offer in the future.”
“The handouts to support and supplement content are very detailed and informative. The info re: App’s is most helpful and can be applied in our setting.”

“This webinar helped to break down complex content into manageable and realistic chunks for teachers.”
“Very satisfied. Such a fantastic workshop and so useful.”
“This workshop has helped me understand what executive functioning actually is and the different competencies and skills involved. This is an area in which many children with hearing loss struggle.”
“Very satisfied as it not only clearly defined Executive Function but also gave useful strategies to use in the classroom.”
“It was a great workshop…the supporting handout will help me to go over it and really get the most out of it.”
“Very satisfied. I liked the fact that we had an option to just listen or listen and make notes. The notes are really helpful to refer back to.”

“An excellent course that provided a lot of thought provoking content and ideas to improve the learning experience for students with working memory issues and indeed for all students. There are a number of ideas which I will try to incorporate into my practice as a relief teacher. The handouts were excellent, plenty of space for notes and I can refer to them when needed, particularly the many practical ideas that were provided. The presenter’s delivery was good – easy to listen to.”
“A very clear presentation – very useful for teachers.”
“I am very satisfied with this course. It has given me a deeper understanding of working memory and how many strategies I already have in place to support students with working memory issues.”
“This was excellent – this has helped me to succinctly sift what the important things are that teachers need to know about WM. The handouts are excellent and mean that I do not have to go and invent them myself! The access to the slides before we started the module meant I could print them and write next to them as I needed to to reduce cog load when I needed to refer back to them. This presentation has reminded me again of how lucky I am to have been raised in a home with parents who made sure I could develop good memory skills – and how fortunate I am to have good executive functioning skills. And now I can better help those in my care at school now with this workshop in mind. Thank you! An excellent hour of PL.”
“This was an excellent workshop. I have recommended to friends and will absolutely use the handouts and materials on going to support the students in my care.”
“The presenter was able to develop a clear, well-structured presentation. She was also able to prepare effective slides that support and strengthen the clarity of the message.”
Task Initiation – helping learners to get started and to keep going, has been designed to help teachers understand executive function, specifically focusing on task initiation. Participants will learn of the implications for learning that are associated with task initiation difficulties and what this means for a student’s ability to learn and engage with the curriculum.
Participants will learn about adjustments that are considered best practice for including children with language and executive functioning difficulties.
Participants will learn practical strategies that can be implemented to support learners to sustain attention and develop self management of their learning from primary through to high school. Strategies discussed will benefit all learners, but also include targeted strategies that can be used for individuals requiring further adjustments to access, engage and participate in learning with their peers.
